“Our Life Journey”
Hello, I am here to tell you about the most amazing person I have ever known and our incredible life Journey together.
We have to go back in time to 1976, Davis High School my good friend Jeff Porter and I were bowling. Yes, that was our PE class. I saw this cute girl three lanes down couldn’t take my eyes off her. I asked Jeff who is that? He proceeded to read me the names posted on that lane. It must be “Louise.”
Now you need to understand, I am a junior in High School and a musician that played in a rock’n’roll band. I had long hair and was very dedicated to my music. Jeff and I were also into cars and auto mechanics. I drove a 1969 El Camino with a 396. It was a hot rod. Boy, could I burn rubber in that car.
So, how do I meet beautiful Louise? One day after school I see her getting on the school bus. So, I decided to follow the bus to her drop off. She sees me and I wave. Now the next day she is aware of me in the school parking lot. So, I take this opportunity to show her how much rubber I could burn, making a large smoke cloud as I left the parking lot. It made her laugh. So, I would follow her home on the bus each day and then I would drive her 1 block home. A few weeks later our very first date.
March 12, 1976 Its Louise 16th birthday. I had just had my 17th birthday 1 day prior on March 11th. We are 1 year and 1 day apart. We were both Pisces. Artists - dreamers - lovers. I did not know it then, but this was the beginning of our incredible life Journey together. We fell in love immediately. My Mom adored and loved Louise as her own daughter and her Mother Elaine and Dad Alan welcomed this long-haired musician into their family, I remember her grandfather Perry Spaman who was very protective of his granddaughter. He called me “John boy”. I do not a think it was a compliment.
Louise never left my side as we both finished high school. I continued being a musician and started working at Tower Stereo. Louise continued her education. She would work at Longs Drug Store and go to school at “the Academy of Arts” in San Francisco Monday - Thursday. Then come back and work Friday Sat and Sun. Still making time for us. This was Louise, her character and focus. Never complaining and always happy. Quietly making her way in the world. I on the other hand had taken some classes at MJC and a family friend Tony Cannizzaro suggested I obtain a Real Estate license. So, in 1980 I went to work for Gordon Nutson, Wolverine Real Estate in Modesto, where I met what turned out to be life long friend Art Martin. With Tony and Art’s guidance my love for Real Estate Development and Construction was born.
Louise completed her education and graduated with bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. She started working for Pacific Design associates where she met other professionals and learned the business of Architectural design and construction. It was during this time Louise fell in love with designing and building homes.
1988, 12 years into our journey Louise and I had found a new connection. She had bought a cute house on Helen Ave. From me of course! This is where she started designing our first homes. The following year I received a general contractors license and JC Williams Company was born. Art Martin and I developed a small subdivision in Modesto which Louise designed ever home. Each one a unique custom design. “Our first community.” Then we developed, “Bristol Park” in Turlock, which sold out in weeks. This provided Louise and I the resources we needed to fly. We never looked back.
We together loved coming up with new ideas which she would make them come to life. Louise was magic. Her artist talent always present. Her passion for design truly made her life happy and is why our new home communities were so special. She was always a step ahead. Listening to customers and always improving the details. She leaves behind thousands of her homes. “A masterpiece”
On August 2, 1991, I married “the love of my life “Beautiful Louise in Kauai Hawaii on the ocean. It was the most amazing day as she rode up in a horse drawn carriage. She was so incredibly beautiful it still overwhelms me today. Louise loved the ocean, her barefoot feet in the sand, the smell and the sound of the waves. “True Love”
Louise was always up for anything I suggested. We both loved boats and together we became coast guard certified and enjoyed boating together. We purchased a used Viking Sportfishing boat located on the Chesapeake Bay. This began a new east coast journey. Louise and I traveling down the intercoastal waterways ending up in Palm beach Florida. The boat was a fishing machine. Louise named it the “REEL TEASE”. We hired a Captain “Captain Jay “who Louise loved and considered family. He hooked us up with some of the best fishing mates on the planet. This was all-new! Louise loved the adventure of traveling on the boat. She learned to sport fish for Marlin and Sailfish. Always releasing her catch. The next 6 years we would take the boat to the Bahamas and to Cancun Mx each year to fish and enjoy the Caribbean waters. “Adventure”
Best gift ever, on my mother’s 70th birthday Dec 1992, Jennifer Louise is born. This Incredible moment that would be forever celebrated together. Their birthdays 70 years apart. These were happy times, Louise was a natural Mom loving and caring for Jennifer. She would work from home while continuing to work on all our projects.
A few months later, I was in Florida for the Miami Boat show. I started thinking we should see about buying a house on a waterway where we could dock the boat. I found a property on Singer Island and sent her photos. It had great water frontage, but was an older small house. Louise was all in without even seeing it in person. Her incredible design ability reimagined the property. Producing building plans in just days. We made an offer and purchased the property.
Then in Sept we flew with Jennifer for the first time to see the property. Jennifer was now 10 months old. We had completed the dock and the boat served as living quarters. Louise spent the next few weeks there performing her magic. Specifying every finish, finding products and vendors. With Captain Jay now running the job site, the house was completed and ready for the Christmas holiday. Louise always enjoyed these challenges. “Success”
Our building and development business had grown. By 2000 we had developed River nine at Del Rio, Center Court Estates in Modesto, and started our 640-unit development on the south side of 120 in Manteca called Bella Vista. Jennifer was now 8 and in school so we decided to sell the Singer Island house and our incredible 61 foot Sportfisher. Yes, we had upgraded to a larger boat. Louise wanted to focus 100% on the businesses now including Paramont Homes.
Three years later Adam John is born. Louise continues to work from home while raising two children and volunteering at Enslen school. She loved to cook and always made amazing food. Everyday spoiling us. The house was full of Jennifers friends which she always treated as an extension of our family. Looking back now it seems crazy. Louise did all of this with so much love and happiness. Never ever complained or seemed overwhelmed. “Loved her Family”
As many of you know, Louise had a way of touching everyone she met or worked with. She loved the world and saw the best in everyone. No matter whether it was her beautiful smile or her cheerful voice on the phone, she made you know she cared and appreciated you.
Louise cared deeply for her family and all her friends. Always making time to visit and to listen. Ready to help you in an instant. Most recently she loved going to see Adam play college golf. Finally in May, she looked so happy as she watched Adam graduate with his Bachelor’s of Science... She was so proud.
Beautiful Louise is the “love of my life” now and forever. I am so grateful to have been able to share 49 years 5 months and 27 days with her. However, the journey will not end here. Instead, it continues with our beautiful children, Jennifer and Adam. She leaves a big footprint in all of our hearts that will never be forgotten. Louise, my love, you inspired me every day. Your smile and happiness live inside me now. I hold you tight in my heart. Sweetheart, I love you forever and ever.
Thank you for loving me!
John
